No 7 For Sale Cottage

Numbered Series

This cottage is number 7 in the numbered series of cottages produced by Mudlen End Studio and is referred to as the "For Sale" cottage as it bears a for sale sign on the front face, although the label itself varies.

There are several different forms of the For Sale sign that appears on this cottage. The two alternate formats that are commonly encountered are shown below. One shows the Felsham address while the other shows the (later) Thurston address. According to the Collectors Guide produced by S B Carphlaughey, there are two different forms of the Thurston label: one in a gloss finish and one in matt finish (as shown here).

The cottage can also be found in red finish [Hard to Find].

This red example carries the Country Cottages marking on the base. It came as part of Country Cottages Set B. Additional photos of this example can be found on the colour theme page.

No 4 in the series, Thatched cottage with bedroom under roof, can also be found with a For Sale sign for local agent "Chas Boardman & Son".

Notes

This model is relatively easy to find [Uncommon], but may also be found in other colours, notably red [Hard to Find].
