Description

Reko camera made by Rochester Optical Co (the makers name is inscribed on the brass track). McKeown gives the date as c1899.

The Reko camera takes 4 x 5 plates, with Unicum shutter and rapid rectilinear lens. The camera name is identified on a brass plate on the lens board.

Ground glass screen present, and clips nicely behind frame. 1 DDS included (marked as a PREMO accessory), which slides between ground glass screen and frame.

There have been some repairs to the leather, especially on one hinge and over the concealed buttons. The maroon bellows are in good condition and appear to be light tight.

This example carries an additional plate alongside focussing scale, "The Obrig Camera Co, Photo Materials, 165 Broadway, N.Y".
