Description

Speed camera built for Dallmeyer by Newman & Guardia, with classic scissor strut design that was their hallmark. The name comes from the shutter & fast Dallmeyer lens that is fitted to the camera. The 4.5 x 6 size is less common than the 6 x 9 size.

So why has this camera been fitted with Tessar lens and not a Dallmeyer Pentac? It carries an inscription on the baseboard next to the auxiliary scale for "Dallon No 104270" - the Dallon was the telephoto lens that was available as an option.

Leather covered body, with the box section of mahogany and the baseboard of aluminium.

The shutter is still operable, but sticks on its travel. It should be handled with care and operated sparingly to protect it.

The camera shows some wear on the corners and metal fittings, but is in good condition.

Rising front. Ground glass screen, in good order, but no DDS with the camera.
