Description

Simple cardboard box camera for a single plate, in marbelised red & black finish, with original carton & contents. The back of the camera slips off to allow the plate to be loaded (in a darkroom).

This is the full kit as far as is known. Contents consists of: red packet (opened) containing a dry plate (still wrapped in black paper) and a single sheet of self-toning paper (now silvered); 1 packet (sealed) of developer chemicals; 1 packet (sealed) of fixing salts; 1 card printing frame; an undated standard letter on headed paper about the camera and detailing further supplies; a single page of instructions.

Original sales carton in normal brown cardboard finish with one face printed. The camera itself carries no identification marks; it can only be attributed to Coronet when accompanied by its box, which identifies the maker.

Notes

These cameras are uncommon, with perhaps 2 or 3 examples turning up each year. It is not unusual for some parts of the kit to remain with the camera.

It is conceivable that there may be other colours, but plain black and this red & black finish are the only ones I have ever come across.
