Description

Plate camera of uncertain origin, but almost certain to have been made in Germany and imported under the Cameo name by Butcher.

The only marking is the name CAMEO on the focusing scale. Otherwise there are no obvious markings, though the fittings are certainly similar to other Butcher cameras of the period.

The camera has maroon bellows, and aluminium bed and wooden body.  It includes an interesting reversible ground glass screen with one side marked for plates and the other for films.

This is a much later version of the Cameo, which came with its original sales carton (albeit in rather grubby condition). This identifies the camera as a No. 0 Cameo.
