MUDLEN END STUDIO COLLECTION

Cottages with Snow

Themed Models

Cottages with snow on their roofs and window sills appear to have been an embellishment that was applied to a reasonable number of the cottages in the series (precise list as yet to be confirmed). In a sense the snow theme is more akin to one of the recognised colour variations (red, blue, green).

From evidence I have collected, the list of cottages that are known to exist in snow theme are 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 15, 20, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33 and 38. This is a large proportion of the numbered series. According to the excellent Collectors Guide produced by S B Carphlaughey, two of the Lark Rise models are also available in this finish.

Two examples are shown below.

The first is cottage is number 2 in the numbered series of cottages produced by Mudlen End Studio and is identified in the Mudlen brochure as the Thatched Yeomans Cottage.

Notes

Models with snow are difficult to find [Hard to Find to Scarce], although perhaps slightly easier than bunting or flowers as they seem to have been made in larger numbers and across a wider set of model variations.
