The Bell Hotel, Clare is a located on the Market Hill in the centre of the town. The Bell Hotel is an attractive half-timbered Tudor style coaching inn, which apparently dates back to the 16th century. The photograph below of the actual hotel was taken in November 2013. The hotel has undergone a number colour changes over recent decades, with photos on the internet showing it in pink, yellow and peach as well as the current white (as depicted in the model), although it appears that the redecoration was still in progress when I took the photo below as one end of the building is still in the process of being painted over.
I went to school in Clare and walked past this building on an almost daily basis. Later when I moved on to the next stage in my schooling and attended Sudbury Grammar, I used to wait for the school bus on the Market Hill opposite the hotel. I was therefore particularly pleased to add this model to my collection.
Notes
The model is very difficult to find [Scarce], and as far as I am aware, is not available in other colour variations.
