Great Storm
Other Models (Specials)
The Great Storm models were produced to commemorate the hurricane force winds that struck southern England in the early hours of October 16th, 1987.
There are three patterns of the commemorative model, based on cottage number 13, cottage number 29, and cottage number 39 in the numbered series. The model is similar in style to a "fairing", a model mounted on a base or plinth that was given away at fairs in the Victorian era, often with some inscription on the front face of the plinth.
The model of the Great Storm show below is based on cottage number 13 in the Numbered Series.

Notes
None of the three models in my collection carry any form of backstamp on the underside. It appears that the dark colouring applied to the fallen tree has proven to be a challenge to the painter's skills, for in two of the three examples here, it has spread to adjacent areas of the model.
These model are difficult to find [Hard to find], and finding all three is a distinct challenge! As far as I am aware, none are available in other colour variations.
