The model of the Cherry Trees School in Suffolk appears to be a commemorative model. The underside carries the standard Mudlen End Studio backstamp but also has a stamp that identifies the building by name and has a date of October 5th 1990. I have not been able to determine the significance of this date to the school. Can anyone tell me?

Cherry Tree School is located in Risby, near Bury St. Edmunds in Suffolk. The original building that the model depicts is now part of a much larger school complex. I believe the exterior is now painted white (December 2023), therefore looking rather different to the orangy red finish of the model, which anyway is a simplified though recognisable interpretation of the actual building.

Notes

According to information on Ben Hart's blog page (a valuable reference source for anyone interested in Mudlen End as Ben is the son of James Hart), the model was produced to celebrate the formal opening of a nursery in 1990. It was given to staff and pupils. Ben advises that he believes it likely that production was limited to a run of 100 or less models.

The model is very difficult to find [Scarce], and as far as I am aware, is not available in other colour variations.
